Brian Jones
Age: 27
Brian Jones was one of the original founding members of famous English rock band the Rolling Stones, and played a key role in helping grow the band. Jones was just 27 when he was found dead in his swimming pool on July 3rd, 1969.
The coroner’s official ruling was “death by misadventure.” The news of Jones’ passing sent shock waves through the rock world, and it was later revealed he drowned under the influence of drink and drugs.
Original Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman said of Jones, “He formed the band, he chose the members, he named the band, got us gigs…he was very influential, very important, and they slowly lost it – highly intelligent – and just kind of wasted it and blew it all away.”
