Love Island’s Charlie Frederick has admitted he feels “a bit hard done by” about his early exit from the villa, and perhaps got “unlucky” with his coupling.
The 23-year-old model and partner Hayley Hughes, 21, were dumped on Friday night after the public chose to save Dr Alex George, 27, and Samira Mighty, 22.
Charlie admitted: “I am gutted about leaving the villa, I would love to still be in there with the boys. I do feel a bit hard done by in that sense.
“I don’t feel it was my time to go at all I feel like I just got unlucky and invested my time wrong.”
Hayley had chosen newcomer Charlie in the last recoupling, after they appeared to both fancy each other, but things quickly went downhill, with Charlie accusing Hayley of being “muggy” and pulling away from him.

They ended up being voted – alongside Alex and Samira – as the least compatible couple in the villa, which led them to face the public vote and go home.
Charlie said: “I can understand why the islanders voted me and Hayley as less compatible because obviously we weren’t compatible.
“She is not compatible. I feel like I am a compatible person. I wanted someone to be with me but she wasn’t ready for that, I don’t think. The same thing happened with Eyal.”
Charlie added that he’d have tried to graft another girl if he’d known Hayley didn’t fancy him, but equally, he really did fancy Hayley and has no regrets about trying to get to know her.
“Knowing what I know now, 100 per cent I would have looked elsewhere but I wouldn’t have done anything differently because I did fancy her,” he said.
“I was trying to crack on with Hayley but I don’t feel like I was getting anything back.”
Charlie said he’d “110 per cent” go back on Love Island if he was given the chance – and he’d couple up with someone different!
“I wouldn’t have gone for Hayley if I would have known she was playing a game,” he said. “I still fancied her, she is an attractive girl. If we were doing the recoupling again, I would have liked Megan or Georgia to pick me or Rosie. We all fancied each other.”
As for regrets, he simply said: “Investing all my time in Hayley and not actually giving other people a chance and telling them that I wanted Hayley to pick me. Little did I know, I was going to be kept at arm’s length by her.”

Hayley, meanwhile, told ED! and other media yesterday she stayed true to herself in the villa and wasn’t going to fake feelings when they weren’t there.
She said: “I genuinely do feel we were the least compatible. Obviously we were up with Alex and Samira; they were compatible, just not in a romantic way.
Hayley added: “And obviously I’ve been there two weeks and I didn’t find anyone in early days I was compatible with, so I was being true to my own feelings.”
“I’ve got no regrets, I went in there and I was true to myself and my feelings and I wasn’t going to fake my feelings to stay in there. I took risks.”
As for her thoughts on Charlie now, she said: “I’ll see him at the wrap party. But this is the end of us as a couple but I won’t be bitter. It just is what it is.”
Love Island continues Sunday at 9pm on ITV2.
