Charlotte Church recently revealed she had sold her jaw-dropping house and has a dwindling fortune. The Welsh singer and songwriter recently sold The Spinney – her huge six-bedroom mansion in rural Wales.
Charlotte, who previously had allegedly amassed 25 million pounds of wealth by the age of 11, opened up about her finances since stepping away from showbiz.
The performer, who has since established a wellness retreat for women as well as starting The Arwen Project (an educational and environmental project in Wales), lifted the lid on her life away from the spotlight.
In a candid chat with Closer, Charlotte revealed that she is no longer a millionaire.
Charlotte Church fortune
In 2013, Charlotte reportedly bought The Spinney, for a cool £1.3million. Last month, she sold the huge abode (making £1m in profit) and has since downsized to a more modest dwelling.
I am not a millionaire anymore.
She has explained to Closer magazine the reason behind the downsize: “I am not a millionaire anymore. What mattered to me when I bought The Spinney is it was absolutely beautiful and close to the forest and it was a big mansion house.”
Charlotte also explained that she had plans to move away from the spotlight at a very young age.
“When I made money, I did say to my dad when I was 14, ‘I am not sure about this showbiz stuff. I am really not having a good time’ and he was like, ‘Just stick at it as we don’t get these opportunities’,” she detailed.
Charlotte Church considers return to fame
The Crazy Chick singer is living a very different life now, running a wellness retreat as well as an educational environmental project – but this doesn’t mean she hasn’t toyed with the thought of returning to fame.
But it comes with a requirement…
“My main job in life is as a mother, so as long as [work] doesn’t take me away from my beautiful babies too much,” Charlotte told OK!.
Meanwhile, she is currently working as a sound healer.
She told Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett’s Dish podcast: “I’m a sound healer now, so I’m doing stuff at The Dreaming, which is really about pulling out the strands of how sound can be used for healing, how voice can be used for healing.
“I wanna sort of try and meld this idea of music and healing, and voice and healing, with that joy and ecstasy.”
