Cheryl has admitted to a career setback following the death of her friend Sarah Harding.
Sarah died earlier this year at the age of just 39 after a battle with an aggressive form of breast cancer.
Since her death, Cheryl has cancelled public appearances and pulled out of a Pride event in Birmingham.
The latest news will no doubt come as a blow to her fans, with Cheryl saying that she hopes they “understand”.
What did Cheryl say about Sarah Harding?
Cheryl posted an announced about her BBC Sounds podcast to her Instagram Stories this afternoon (December 3).
She said the she wouldn’t be completing the series because it “just didn’t feel right”.
“Hi, I hope you’re all doing great!” the pop star said.

“I’ve seen some of your messages asking about the podcast with BBC Sounds and I wanted to let you all know that I decided not to record the last few episodes.
“It was to be recorded around the same time as Sarah’s passing. I took a break from everything then including the series and it just didn’t feel right to revisit it again,” she said.
Cheryl then gave a shout out to her fans and asked for their “understanding”.
“I hope you understand and thank you again for all of your love and support these past couple of months. Cheryl x.”
Cheryl takes a step back for her own ‘wellbeing’
Following Sarah’s death, a source told Closer that Cheryl was taking a break from the limelight to “prioritise her wellbeing”.

They said: “The shock and devastation have hit her so hard.
“She’s not in any mindset to think about performing so she’s taking a little break to prioritise her wellbeing.”
Tributes flood in for Sarah Harding on her 40th
Cheryl recently paid tribute to Sarah on what would’ve been her 40th birthday, sharing a tear-jerking video to her Instagram grid.
Cheryl captioned the post: “Memories may be all we’re left with, but they’re enough to last a lifetime ✨ #Sarahs40th.”
