She’s been through a lot this past year, and it appears Cheryl is finally ready to talk.
And she’s seemingly pulling no punches when it comes to her ex-boyfriend, Liam Payne – even hinting that he’s not been helping much with their 21-month-old, Bear.
In comments reported by The Mirror, Cheryl, 35, said she’s been struggling with arranging childcare since returning to work, crediting her mum, Joan, and Liam’s parents for stepping in.
The former Girls Aloud star explained that it’s “taken a lot of adjusting”, adding: “Anything more than 9am to 6pm or overnight and I’m like: ‘Mam, I’m gonna be there for two nights.’
“She’s always there to be fair to her, or [Liam’s] parents come down as well. They’re very good as well.”
Cheryl made no mention of the former One Direction star – who she split from after nearly two years together in July – looking after his son.
Liam, 25, has said he’s happy to leave their son with his ex, telling People magazine earlier this year: “Babies want their mum; I would never have wanted to get in the way of that.”
In the new interview, Cheryl added: “I refused to leave [Bear’s] side for 16 months, it’s only recently I’ve started getting help and I wanted that.
“It didn’t feel natural for me, and I know a lot of people don’t even have that choice, they have to go back to work so I felt like I had such a luxury in being able to have a year with my son. Then after a year I was like, there’s no way I could let somebody I don’t know take him, I just couldn’t fathom it.”

Earlier this week she deleted her entire Instagram history – including all pictures of Liam and Bear – ahead of the release of her new single, Love Made Me Do It, out November 9.
She posted a short clip of the new music video, sending her 3.7million followers into a frenzy.
In one of the lyrics, Cheryl sings: “I fall in love with every [bleeper], I am a dreamer,” leading fans to speculate that it was about Liam.
But she denied it during a chat on Jessie Ware’s podcast, saying: “All the music and all the songs that I’ve got ready were done way before we split.
“None of them are about anybody. I wasn’t sat writing a love poem to anyone or about anybody.”
Singer Jessie’s mother, Helena, asked how Cheryl felt about Liam being seen with other women and Cheryl replied: “I couldn’t give a [bleep].”

She added: “I know what I want in life, but in the romantic area, I am not as evolved. That area has stopped. It’s not happening anymore. It’s the end. It’s the end.”
