Chris Evans and friends ‘kicked out of London pub’

And it was apparently over a sexist remark to a barmaid

Virgin Radio breakfast host Chris Evans was reportedly kicked out of a London pub – along with several famous friends – after an inappropriate remark was made to a pub staff member.

According to The MirrorChris Evans was enjoying drinks with a group of around 20 – that included ex-England footballer Ray Parlour and TalkSport presenters Alan Brazil and Mike Parry – when they were asked to leave the premises.

One of the group had allegedly made a sexist remark to a female bartender, who reported the comment to her manager, and who in turn threw the group out.

The pub in question, The Wheat Sheaf, is located at the trendy Borough Market area in South London, just a stone’s throw away from Virgin Radio’s headquarters near The Shard.

An eyewitness told the paper: “Everyone was in good spirits, clearly celebrating.

“Then one of the male members of the group made a sexist remark to the barmaid, who reported it back to her manager.

“The next thing the whole group were booted out of the bar.”

It is unknown who in the group made the alleged remark.

Chris would have indeed had much to celebrate however.

The presenting veteran made the switch from BBC Radio 2 to Virgin Radio back in January, and has already broken the one million listeners barrier – just months into the job.

This is the highest ratings the radio network has received, but is still lagging behind the up to nine million listeners Chris attracted while at the BBC.
