Chris Hughes has shared the sad news that his brother Ben has testicular cancer, following the Love Island star’s attempt to spread awareness of the disease.
It comes after the 26-year-old had a live TV exam with Dr Chris Steele on This Morning in November.
He surprised everyone when he bravely had the testicular cancer check in front of the nation.
Now, he has shared the heartbreaking news that cancer has struck close to home.
He posted a throwback picture with his brother on Instagram and wrote: “A sad day. My brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer this lunchtime, in which we pray for a kind prognosis.
He continued: “He came into my room at 3am the morning after my testicular examination on tv, clearly struggling to sleep, telling me he’d found a lump and asked me if he’s checking it right. To which I told him, ‘Ben, it’s 3am, I’ll look in the morning, but if there’s a lump, go and check it checked tomorrow with the doctor’.”
Chris added that his brother thanked him for bringing his attention to the problem: “Today he sent me a message telling me the news, and thanking me for making him aware, else he’d never have known he had cancer.. That literally broke my heart. Testicular cancer is a silent killer, men need realise this and check themselves regularly. It takes 10 seconds. Please do it.”

Chris, who found fame on Love Island in 2017, says he has spoken out about his brother in the hope of helping more people become aware of the disease.
It comes after he revealed that his family have suffered with testicular problems over the years.
After his appearance on This Morning, he posted to Instagram: “This Morning’s live examination was important for me to speak openly about checking yourself. Testicular issues have plagued myself & my family for many years, from cancer to infertility, so helping and urging others to check themselves means a lot to me, as not only does it affect you, it can affect the people around you and your life going forward, whilst most importantly saving lives”.
