Christine McGuinness shares pride in twins’ wonderful achievement

Fans have praised her fighting to get the best for her children

Christine McGuinness has revealed her pride in twins Leo and Penelope successfully completing their first year of school.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star, who is married to Paddy McGuinness, posted a beautiful photo to Instagram showing her walking hand-in-hand with the five-year-old twins and their little sister Felicity, one.

Christine, 30, told followers she was thrilled by Leo and Penelope’s achievement as just twelve months ago she was battling for an Education, Health and Care Plan to assist the pair in their learning.

She told her fans on Friday:”My babies are growing up so fast! Leo and Penelope have finished their first year at school and Felicity has settled so well into nursery.”

“This time last year I was fighting for the twins EHCP so they would get extra support at school,” she continued. “I still hadn’t decided on where to send them and I wasn’t feeling confident they were even ready to go.

“They have surprised me so much and made me proud every day.”

Christine and Paddy rarely share photos of their children online and when they do, the little ones’ faces are always hidden from the camera.

Although they like to keep their kids out of the spotlight, they have both spoken openly about their experiences with autism.

They launched their inaugural Twinkle Ball for the National Autistic Society earlier this year.

Christine has spoken in interviews about her “shock” when the kids were diagnosed, and how it’s made her strive to be the best mother she can.

She recently told the Manchester Evening News: “Knowing my children and they both have autism, I still find them absolutely perfect and amazing. The diagnosis hasn’t changed that at all, but it has helped us explain their behaviour to other people.”

She added on This Morning last year: “I think initially there is a huge sense of loss but you just need to stay strong and remember these children were perfect to me before they got this diagnosis and they are still perfect now.

“We aren’t looking for a cure, our children don’t need to be fixed. My twins are absolute superstars, they are stunning and all they need is understanding from other people.”
