Kate Garraway has come under fire after joking about Cheryl’s weight on Good Morning Britain.
Cheryl’s body transformed during her recent marriage to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini and after finalising their divorce, the reason why was revealed.
The former X Factor judge confessed something pretty heartbreaking – the “stress” in the marriage was the cause of her shrinking frame.
While discussing Cheryl’s claims, Good Morning Britain host Richard Arnold, Ben Shepherd and Kate mocked the singer’s body.
Kate jokingly said: “She’s really ballooned,” as a recent photo of Cheryl appeared on the screen.
She added: “That’s what counts as putting on weight in Cheryl’s world.”
Which left both Richard and Ben laughing.

What’s funny about that? Mocking someone’s size – especially if they’ve lost weight due to traumatic personal experience.
This is NOT okay.
Richard tried to defend the star and said: “She’s now happy with Liam, she’s happy now!”
So she deserves to be! Cheryl hasn’t had the smoothest time over the past year, so let’s all give her a break!

The star confirmed the end of her marriage with Jean-Bernard, after a hearing which lasted just 14 seconds.
A spokesperson for Cheryl said: “Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini have obtained Decree Nisi in their divorce proceedings.
“No further comment will be made and they ask for their privacy to be respected.”
This comes shortly after rumours that Cheryl is ‘pregnant’ with Liam Payne’s baby.
Cheryl disappeared from the radar for several months, then stepped out during Paris Fashion Week, and fans were quick to point out what looked like a baby bump.
