Loose Women panelist Coleen Nolan has admitted to ‘smacking’ her grown up sons when they were children.

During a discussion about aggressive children on today’s episode of Loose Women, the Celebrity Big Brother star admitted that she struggled to control her boys when they were little.

Coleen has two sons, Shane Roche Jr, 28, and Jake Roche, 24.

Coleen admitted: “There were times when I smacked my boys,” before adding it was when they were very badly behaved.

She continued: “I don’t mean I battered them, it wasn’t abuse.

“But I smacked them on the back of the legs or the hand.”

But the former singer also said she never felt like she had to discipline her 15-year-old daughter Ciara.

She said: “Ciara I’ve never smacked, not even on the hand.”

She went on to explain: “Ciara’s always responded to a look or a tone of voice when she was little but the boys were wilder.”

Coleen then went on to talk about her husband Ray Fensome and how he changed her son Jake’s life.

She said: “Ray changed Jake’s life really.

“He taught him there has to be consequences so if he was grounded, he’d be grounded.”

Despite praising his skills as a stepdad, Coleen has recently opened up about her marriage problems with Ray, who she tied the knot with ten years ago.

After her CBB win, she revealed that the couple were facing a split as they couldn’t find a way to save their marriage.

During her time in the house, she admitted her marriage hasn’t been great lately but she said: “It’s made me realise how much I do need him in my life.”
