Celebrity Big Brother Winner Coleen Nolan has revealed she was dramatically rushed to hospital the day before her shock win.
Appearing on Loose Women for the first time this year, Coleen talked openly to her fellow panellists Ruth Langsford, Linda Robson, and Nadia Sawalha about her time in the house.
She revealed she woke up last Thursday with chest pains, but initially put it down to all the alcohol and cigarettes she’d been having.
She’d been allowed to rest during the day, but then Big Brother called her to the Diary Room and told her a paramedic was there to see her.
“I’d been smoking a lot,” she told her colleagues. “Every scene of that show had me holding a cigarette and it was very stressful in there.
“I was allowed to sleep in the day time ‘cos I was ill, but then Big Brother told me they were calling an ambulance.
“They said they can’t overrule the doctor and I had to go to hospital.”
Coleen revealed she was at first furious about the decision, completely getting the wrong end of the stick about what was happening: “I thought I was being evicted and had a go at Big Brother saying it was really cruel to evict me the night before the final!”
As Coleen was taken to the hospital with a blanket over her head to protect her identity, she said she found the whole thing “embarrassing” because the doctor came in and “was talking to a blanket”!
After undergoing seven ECGs and chest x-rays to check everything was okay, Coleen was given the all-clear to return to the house, where she emerged the winner of the show, beating Jedward into second place, 24 hours later.
It turned out, she’d been right about her symptoms all along and her pain was due to over-indulgence and stress.
Admitting she’d gone into the house as a non-drinker, she ended up having eight cans of rum and coke a night.
“I was drunk for 32 days!” she laughed.
And the stress? Well, it’s fair to say it could have been down to one housemate in particular – Kim Woodburn.

Although Coleen refused to say whether or not it was Kim who stressed her out the most, she didn’t have much to say on her other than confessing: “There wasn’t one single moment in the house where I found that woman entertaining.
“I was, hand on heart, two-faced to Kim. I knew she was doing it for airtime.”
Coleen also talked about her marriage to husband Ray on the show, which was hanging by a thread when she went into the house.

Revealing that they’d only texted since she got out on Friday, she did confirm their time apart had made her miss him and appreciate what she has.
