Coleen Nolan has been reflecting on her time as a This Morning presenter.
Her somewhat forgotten – and brief – stint on the sofa happened back in 2001, when she co-hosted alongside model Twiggy.
The show lost a third of its viewers within weeks, and now Coleen has spoken out about it, saying she warned the production team it was never “going to work.”
Speaking on Tuesday night’s documentary, This Morning – 30 Unforgettable Years, the Loose Women star admitted: “In my mind, I’m thinking ‘OK, well you’re obviously a little bit insane that you’ve offered me this, but I’ll give it a go’.”
It followed the sad departure of This Morning veterans, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, and Coleen, now 53, was worried about filling their shoes, saying: “Initially I said no, I can’t, I can’t follow them.”
But she eventually accepted the job, with Twiggy as her co-host, but Coleen warned producers their chemistry wasn’t right.
She said: “I’ve got to be honest with you, I told them before we went live on air that it wasn’t going to work with me and Twiggy. I just knew from rehearsals.”
Twiggy was later replaced by presenter John Leslie, and shortly after that, Fern Britton took over from the Loose Women panellist.

The documentary was part of a series of special events to mark This Morning’s 30th anniversary.
Beloved TV duo Richard and Judy were among the famous faces from This Morning’s past and present who attended a very special BAFTA tribute to the ITV daytime programme at BAFTA Piccadilly in London on Monday.
They posed for the cameras together and alongside colleagues including Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
It’s not often the couple are seen together on the red carpet, after Judy stepped away from the limelight a few years ago.
Richard has said that he and Judy “felt like mavericks” during the first years of This Morning.
The husband and wife duo, who hosted the show between 1988 and 2001, said its first broadcasts had pioneered the daytime television format.
This Morning was honoured for its “outstanding” contribution to television with BAFTA’s Special Award at the tribute event.
