Actress and comedian Amy Schumer has revealed she’s been hospitalised with severe morning sickness just one month after announcing her pregnancy.
The I Feel Pretty star shared a photo of her hospital bed to Instagram, revealing she’d been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum – the same condition that affected Kate Middleton during her pregnancies.

The condition leads to severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and dehydration, and in some cases lasts for the entire nine months of pregnancy.
Amy had to cancel scheduled stand up appearances in Texas due to her illness, and used the caption of her Instagram to apologise.

“Texas I am so deeply sorry,” she said. “I have been really looking forward to these shows. I have to reschedule.
“I am in the hospital. I’m fine. Baby’s fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story. I’ve been even more ill this trimester. I have hyperemesis and it blows.
“Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bullsh*t! Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati! They are cool as hell!
“And Texas I am really really sorry and I’ll be out there as soon as I’m better.”

The comedian announced she was expecting her first child with chef husband, Chris Fischer last month.

She posted a photoshopped image to Instagram, showing her and Chris’s heads stuck on top of the bodies of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are also expecting their first child.
The caption directed fan’s to the Instagram account of journalist Jessica Yellin for the announcement – which was included in a list of voting recommendations.
