We thought we’d seen the last of Woody in EastEnders in last night’s ep when he ran out on Walford – and fiancee Whitney.

But instead, he legged it during their farewell party, leaving poor Whitney standing at the tube station looking forlorn.

Woody didn’t even have the decency to tell Whit to her face, choosing to leave her a scrawled note telling her she’d be better off staying in Albert Square. Er, ever heard of a phone, Woody?!
This is very similar to how Lee left her – what a rat!
Fans have been wondering if that pretty anti-climactic farewell was Woody’s exit from the show.

And now it’s been confirmed by Digital Spy that the love-rat barman will return. Yay!
Woody is played by Lee Ryan, who shot to fame as a member of boyband Blue back in the noughties.
Lee’s been busy with his music commitments recently – the band even released their autobiography All Rise last month – so he’s taken a break from Enders to concentrate on Blue for a while.
Fans will have to wait and see how and when Woody returns to the Square, but the good news (for us at least, not sure if it’s good news for Whit!) is that he’ll definitely be back at some point.
