Ches was left heartbroken when girlfriend Sinead dumped him for Daniel Barlow. However, when it turned out Daniel was the one who’d pushed his father down the stairs and left him for dead, Sinead realised she couldn’t be with someone capable of doing that and left him.
Not stuck in limbo for long, she soon found herself back in Chesney’s arms after he wooed her back with a suggestion of going to see a foreign language film. Ooh la la.
But their happiness was short-lived when Chesney decided he needed to put his demons with Daniel to rest in order for him and Sinead to start afresh.

It was Daniel who saved his life, keeping him conscious and trying to stem the flow of blood. And when Chesney came round in hospital, he and Sinead were once again reunited.
