Corrie’s Steve McDonald is set to sensationally confront love rival Robert Preston over his near-kiss with wife Michelle.
With Steve harbouring his own guilty secret about the baby he’s fathered with Leanne, you’d think he’d let the fact she almost kissed Robert slide, but can he do that when Robert lives under the same roof as them?
In heartbreaking scenes in January viewers saw Michelle and Steve tragically lose their baby son, Ruairi at 23 weeks.
As Michelle struggled to cope with her grief, she ended up perched on the edge of a bridge contemplating suicide.
It was Robert who found her and after an emotional heart to heart managed to talk her down.
But she was so caught up in her emotions, Michelle leaned in for a kiss for comfort. Robert, who’s been harbouring feelings for Michelle for quite some time, did the right thing and gently pushed her away.

Now Michelle and Steve are trying to move forward, and she’s even keen to start trying for another baby, something that leaves Steve stunned and unsure given he knows he has a son living just metres away.
In the spirit of cleansing their lives, Michelle decides to come clean to her husband about how she went in to kiss Robert.
Steve’s understandably shocked, but knowing the secret he’s keeping is ten times worse, he doesn’t give his wife a hard time about it.

Instead he decides to confront Robert.
Robert’s unnerved when Steve approaches him and is quick to defend himself, but Steve steps in and tells him he wants them to draw a line under it and move forward remaining friends.
How very grown up!
Steve goes on to explain Michelle really regrets the kiss, and Robert, who secretly hoped it meant more than it did, is clearly hurt.
