Sophie Webster is going to be left devastated tonight after she is stopped from seeing her ill brother Jack in Coronation Street.
The restaurant manager’s devastation is made all the more painful because it is her own father Kevin who puts a stop to her seeing Jack as the 11-year-old comes to term with losing his foot.
In a scene from tonight’s episode the doctor tells Kevin and Sophie that Jack will be transferred to a specialist treatment centre in Liverpool.
And as Kevin worries about how they will cope with Jack in a different city, Sophie offers to do everything she can to help.
As Kevin struggled to hold in his emotions, Sophie tried to reassure him.

She told him: “Dad it’s fine, I’ll come with you.”
However Kevin had other ideas.
Clearly he has not been able to let go of the anger he feels towards his daughter for missing Jack’s illness when he first fell sick.
He told her: “No, I don’t want you to. I think it’s something that should just be me and Jack.
“I don’t want too many people there. It’s going to be hard for him.”
A devastated Sophie tried to talk her dad around, telling him: “But dad, I’ve not seen him yet.”

But instead of this changing Kevin’s mind, he stood firm and lashed out at Sophie.
“You’ve had plenty of time to see him but you haven’t,” he said adding: “A few more days isn’t going to hurt, is it?”
Will Sophie be able to convince Kevin to do what’s best for Jack or is she losing her family?
