Last Friday (27th July) saw the end of the Kayla Clifton revenge storyline in Coronation Street, as actress Mollie Winnard bowed out of the soap.
But while Coronation Street has confirmed that these are the last scenes for Kayla now that her true identity as evil Neil Clifton’s daughter has been revealed, insiders have hinted that the door has been left open for the character should the storyline arise.
But Corrie fans have got their own theories about if and when we might see Kayla return to the cobbles, and they’re basing it all on the type of vehicle she left the Street in.

According to soap fan theory if you leave in the back of a black cab, you’re not coming back to the Street. But if you depart in the back of a Streetcars taxi or another car, then the door is open for your return.
So, now you know!
While some fans mused over how Kayla was departing the cobbles, others were more concerned about whether this was the last we had seen of her…
So with Eva departing in the back of a black cab with little Susie and Adam Barlow at her side, fans are convinced that the pair are never coming back (apart from Aidan’s inquest this week, but let’s gloss over that minor fact).
After Kayla had extracted something of a confession from her dad about what he did to Bethany and the other girls Nathan Curtis’s evil gang groomed, she then went to visit Craig to make peace with him, too.
While Craig wasn’t quite so forgiving as Bethany has been over the whole revenge scheme Kayla’s been putting into motion for the last few months, the pair did get something that comes close to closure.

Kayla departing from the cobbles by announcing that her mum was coming to pick her up has got fans all excited, because by their own theory it means she will be back again one day.
And with Corrie officials also confirming that there is scope for the character to make a comeback, it seems all we need to do now is watch this space…
