Corrie fans thrilled at latest Josh Tucker twist

Just how close did David come to murder?

Coronation Street fans rejoiced last night as long-suffering David Platt finally got closure on Josh Tucker after visiting him in hospital following a brutal attack.

But in a new twist in the saga, viewers were left terrified that David would finish his rapist off for good when he visited him in hospital and threatened to turn off his life support machine.

Thankfully David saw sense and left with his head held high, much to the relief of fans.

Earlier in the evening viewers watched as Shona and Billy discovered David has been following Josh and worked out that he could be planning his next attack on an unsuspecting man named Ethan.

Worried that David was going to do something he would regret, Billy talked him out of confronting the man, but ended up warning Ethan away from Josh himself.

But just as Billy had predicted, getting involved ended in trouble when the police told Billy Josh had been attacked by Ethan after he found him carrying GHB, the very same date rape drug that Josh used on the night he attacked David.

With Josh now on life-support following a vicious assault, David used the chance to go and visit his attacker in hospital, wanting closure for all the suffering he has endured over the last few months.

Coming face-to-face with Josh, David got the chance to tell him exactly what he thought of him, telling him he had wanted to kill him so many times, but that the real victory would be to go on and life a happy life and not waste any more time thinking about him.

Fans were full of praise after the episode, applauding David for not letting Josh win once again when he could have so easily turned off his life support machine…

The scene between the two actors was very powerful, with Jack P Shepherd once again being heaped with well-deserved praise from fans.
