Corrie’s Robert Preston stuns Michelle Connor when he confesses his love for her tonight right before she suffers a tragic miscarriage.
The pair’s friendship has blossomed recently and viewers have watched it develop into something more for Robert.
He’s not been brave enough to be honest with Michelle about his feelings, even forcing himself to go on a date with Steph’s friend, Peggy, to try to forget about his married crush.
But that didn’t work out when he admitted he was in love with someone else. It didn’t take long for word to get back to Michelle, who started to behave frostily towards Robert, suspecting it was her he was talking about.
With Robert wondering what he’s done to upset her, Michelle eventually realises she needs to bite the bullet and ask him if he has feelings for her. But how will she react when he confirms he does?
His confession will quickly become the least of her worries though when she suffers stomach pains at her baby shower later on and is rushed to hospital.

Michelle then receives the devastating news that at only 23 weeks her son is too under-developed to survive.
She gives birth to baby Ruairi who’s pronounced dead immediately. As Steve struggles to support her through their loss, blaming himself as he’s convinced it’s punishment for his recent lies, how will Michelle get through this?
It’s a particularly poignant storyline for actress Kym Marsh, who admitted she “thought long and hard” before agreeing after she lost her own baby son, Archie, at 22 weeks in 2009.
The soap favourite said: “It is obviously a cause very close to my heart having lost my beautiful Archie at 21 weeks and five days.
“I discussed it with my family and friends, all of whom were very supportive.
“In the end I felt it was an important story to tell in order to raise awareness of something which affects thousands of women every year.
“Losing a child is something that never leaves you so to revisit those feelings as Michelle has been challenging.
“Coronation Street ensured that I had a counsellor on set at all times to go to after filming the scenes but for me the best tonic after a hugely emotional day was to go home to my kids and be reminded of how lucky I am to have them.”
So will the devastating storyline put the brakes on whatever’s going on with Michelle and Robert? Recent pictures have shown Michelle attempting suicide as she climbs to the top of a bridge and considers ending her own life after the devastating loss of her baby.

It’s Robert who arrives to talk her down and, as he offers her the comfort she needs, the pair come close to sharing a kiss. Is it the grief that drives Michelle into his arms? Or are her feelings for him genuine?
