David Platt’s rapist is left fighting for his life in hospital next week after being brutally beaten to a pulp. But what happened?
As the week gets underway David tells Shona he’s off for a walk and she enlists the help of David’s new BFF vicar Billy to follow him and find out what he’s up to.
As Shona goes through David’s receipts, she finds several for a particular cafe and her suspicions are raised.
Billy spots David sitting in his car and then following a man as he comes out of some flats.

Waiting until David stops outside a bar, he jumps in the passenger seat and demands to know what the hairdresser is up to.
A shocked David explains to Billy that he’s been keeping an eye on Josh to make sure he doesn’t rape anyone again.
He then tells the vicar that the man he’s been trailing has been spending time with Josh and he’s worried that the mechanic is grooming him like he did David.
Concerned, Billy convinces David to go home before he approaches the stranger himself and tells him some truths about Josh, mainly that he’s a twisted rapist.
Later, Billy is stunned when the police pay him a visit and tell him that Josh has been beaten to a pulp by the man he spoke to.
A guilt-ridden Billy summons up the courage to go and tell David and Shona what’s happened.
Later in the week, David stuns Shona when he reveals to her that he’s been to visit Josh in hospital. But why?
Billy lies to the staff that he’s a relative of Josh’s and sits and his bedside praying for him. Will it do any good?
Josh left Corrie fans sickened back in March when he drugged and raped David after a night out.
Back in March fans took to Twitter in their droves to reveal that despite the scenes being some of the hardest to watch that Corrie has ever aired, both Jack P Shepherd and Ryan Clayton who play David and Josh took on the storyline perfectly.
Josh spent weeks winning over David’s trust before plotting a night out that ended up being just the two of them.
He then dropped date rape drug GHB into David’s drink before taking him back to his flat and sexually assaulting him.
David didn’t tell anyone about his ordeal instead keeping it to himself and struggling with his mental health until Aidan Connor’s suicide made him realise he wanted to live.
He bravely prepared himself to tell Shona, who he’d dumped in the aftermath of the assault, and was relieved that she believed him and was willing to stand by him.

With Shona’s support, David reported Josh to the police, leaving fans in tears as he relived the vile attack.
Josh was arrested but eventually released without charge as there was no evidence.
But it looks like the villain is about to be served his just desserts in true soap style if these new pictures are anything to go by.
