Corrie SPOILER: Roy Cropper quizzed by cops over dogging scandal

Steamy encounter with Evelyn Plummer leads cops to believe they're at it

Roy Cropper may be one of the one most law-abiding and strait-laced characters in all of soapland – but it looks as if the Corrie mainstay could be nicked for DOGGING in upcoming weeks.

New photos taken during filming of the ITV soap show the unassuming cafe owner and Evelyn Plummer being quizzed by police after apparently being mistaken for public sex enthusiasts.

And although Roy – played by David Neilson – is more accustomed to serving up rolls with brown sauce on than having a saucy roll about with a stranger in the open air, it appears as if the local coppers will need a bit more convincing.

It is believed Roy and Evelyn – played by Maureen Lipman – attract the attention of the police during a rescue mission for her dog Cerberus.

Believing the mutt has been abducted, the pair of amateur sleuths decide to stake out the location where they believe Cerberus has been stashed.

However, as the Morris Minor they are parked in steams up, suspicious police officers believe they have come across a couple working up to an al fresco romp.

And the outlook for Roy and Evelyn does not look good when they reportedly try and flee by climbing over a fence.

Unsurprisingly, Roy is horrified to feel the long arm of the law on his shoulder – but will he end up facing criminal charges?

Sadly, despite the hilarious mix up, it seems like there may not be a happy ending for Tyrone’s long lost nan as she tries to recover her beloved pet.

According to reports, the character will come out on the losing end of a furious row with another dog lover when she is told “possession is nine tenths of the law”.

The scenes, believed to be among the first to come under the direct stewardship of new show boss Iain MacLeod, are expected to air in December.

Whatever would Hayley think?
