Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd DENIES insulting Jane McDonald

Report alleged he drunkenly mocked her

Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd has reacted angrily to claims that he drunkenly insulted Loose Women star Jane McDonald during a night out.

A report in The Mirror had alleged that Jack, 30 – who plays David Platt in the ITV soap – called Jane, 55, a ‘cow’ and impersonated her during a ‘boozy night out’ with his Corrie co-stars.

But Jack issued a tweet this afternoon, in which he swatted aside any suggestion of wrongdoing.

The Mirror’s article, published this morning, reported that Jack went to Manchester’s MediaCity on Thursday night with Julia Goulding (Shona Ramsey in Corrie), Daniel Brocklebank (Billy Mayhew) and former Street star Hayley Tamaddon (Andrea Beckett).

An onlooker was quoted as saying: “They were drunk and rowdy and getting louder and louder.

“Hayley was talking about being on TV with Jane McDonald, and was excited about this. Jack called Jane a cow and started impersonating her, copying her accent, and Hayley kept telling him to stop.

“They were having a lot of drinks and in the short time we were there, they got numerous rounds of drinks and shots. Jack was getting progressively drunker and louder and drawing attention to the table.”

But Jack and his pals clearly weren’t very pleased with the newspaper’s version of events. First of all, Daniel Brocklebank poured scorn on the article.

He tweeted: “Slow story day? What a load of rubbish! None of us were drunk. We had 3 drinks. And nobody was slating anyone. Don’t believe what you read folks.”

That’s when Jack stepped up to defend himself. Retweeting Daniel’s rant, he wrote: “I must sell a lot of papers, what a load of [expletive].”

The tweet included four ‘crying with laughter’ emojis.

Recently, the Mirror published a picture of Jack apparently ‘slumped unconscious in a lift after celebrating an England World Cup win too hard’.
