Corrie star reveals “horrendous” scenes following Manchester attack

The attack took place on Monday evening at an Ariana Grande concert

Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has revealed she witnessed horrendous scenes after the explosion at Manchester Arena last night.

Sharing a message on Instagram to her 559K followers Brooke, 24, said the scenes around the arena “was something no child should have had to witness”.

The heartbreaking attack killed 22 fans and 119 others were left injured.

In the post the actress wrote: “Heartbroken and devastated. Having rushed into Manchester to help my friend home, the scenes around the arena last night were horrendous.

“Something no child should have had to witness. My thoughts and love are with the people & families this attack has affected.

“The emergency services have been amazing and after such a horrendous attack,how we have come together as a city to help others in such a sad time.. people opening their homes, giving out free transport, a safe place for people to wait for families.

“I pray for our city… Our beautiful city [sic].”

The attack took place during US singer Ariana Grande’s gig last night.

The star has paid a tribute to the families and victims who lost their lives in the terrifying ordeal.

She wrote: “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.”

Meanwhile, Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has revealed she was at the concert last night.

Isabel was at the event with her friend, when the bomb exploded.

Talking to Sky News this morning, she said: “The concert had just finished and we were all leaving and then there was a big bang to our left. Everybody ran away from that immediate area.

“We didn’t know what had happened. People were screaming and running but then it kind of died down.”

Describing the horrific aftermath she added: “Everybody was panicking, there was pushing up the stairs. People were obviously running, climbing down and over the chairs.

“As we got out, everybody was screaming and crying and then the corridor was full of – it smelled of burning and there was quite a lot of smoke as we were leaving.

“It’s just terrifying and it’s really shocking. My heart goes out to anybody that’s been hurt or anything like that. It’s just terrifying.”
