We have already warned that Toyah Battersby’s return to Weatherfield this Christmas would be a sensational one.
The younger sister of Leanne will arrive in a cloud of SCANDAL!
Toyah arrives unexpectedly in Weatherfield on Christmas Day – when she’s supposed to be meeting her sister in Liverpool – and declares that she has left her husband.
Now here’s the shocking bit – he’s discovered she’s having an affair. Toyah!
Although shocked by her little sis’s behaviour, Leanne takes her in (she’s been there herself plenty of times) and she appears to be settling back in to the street just fine.
And then her husband Tony turns up!

Despite his wife’s infidelity, Tony wants her to come back to him.
He even suggests they try for a baby to try to patch things up.
Toyah’s not interested, though.
Pregnant sister Leanne can’t help but interfere and pushes her to find out exactly what her sister is hiding…
Well, she might just regret nosing about…
Could it be that Toyah is having an affair with none other than Peter Barlow.
Yes, Leanne’s ex!
Let’s examine the evidence. Recently, Peter and Leanne had a conversation about Bros – the boy band.
She revealed that both she and her sister Toyah were big fans when they were teenagers.
Peter then went home, rifled through Tracy’s tapes and appeared to wrap one up as Christmas present.
Viewers are, we’re guessing, supposed to think he had done that for Leanne. But what if it is actually for Toyah…
Peter seemed very interested in what Toyah thought of him when Leanne mentioned that she’d always considered him an okay bloke – despite his cheating and general rubbish-ness.
What a twist this would be!
Toyah was last seen in Weatherfield back in 2003, after the university lecturer she was having an affair with cheated on her with old friend Maria Connor.

During her time on the street, Toyah was subjected to a brutal rape in the alley behind her home – the first time in the soap’s 40-year history that a rape storyline was tackled.
Georgia Taylor, who plays the former wayward teen, says of her return: “I am thrilled to be rejoining my old friends on the cobbles.
“Coronation Street has always had a place in my heart and I’m delighted to be working again with my good friend Jane Danson and bringing the Battersby sisters back together.”
