Dan Osborne’s “heartbroken” dad claims spat kept him away from son’s wedding

Reality star tied the knot with Jacqueline Jossa earlier this month

When Dan Osborne and Jacqueline Jossa tied the knot earlier this month, it seemed like the perfect wedding.

The bride and groom looked a picture in their outfits, the best man had guests in stitches with his speech, and a bunch of Jaq’s EastEnders pals even turned up to dance the night away.

But there was one glaring omission from the big day – Dan’s dad, Jim.

And now, Osborne Snr has revealed that he’s “heartbroken” at missing the wedding, and lifted the lid on the argument that caused him to stay away.

Speaking to The Sun, Jim claimed that the rift started after he turned down the offer to join former TOWIE star Dan on his stag do in Las Vegas.

Jim – who split from Dan’s mum Toni in 2001 – has a three-year-old son with his new wife, Becky, and felt that it would be inappropriate to leave the tot at home.

“I thought Dan would understand, being a dad himself,” he explained. “I said, ‘My son needs me — he’s a little boy and is not going to understand.’”

But Jim is now alleging that Dan, 26, responded with a text saying: “Are you going to bother coming to the wedding?”

“I replied saying, ‘If this is my invite, then no’,” Jim told the tabloid. “I thought it was obvious they didn’t want me there and I wasn’t invited.”

Dan and EastEnders actress Jacqueline, 24, said their nuptials at Delamere Manor in Cheshire – once owned by Take That star Gary Barlow.

The pair were joined by their daughter Ella, two, Dan’s three-year-old son Teddy – from his previous relationship with Megan Tomlin – and 170 guests.

But when pictures of the wedding were emblazoned across the pages of OK! magazine, Jim was nowhere to be seen. And he seemed to blame his absence on his son’s attitude.

“He has become more distant with people who love him,” he alleged.

“It’s very upsetting, especially as I’ve always been there for him. And I’m not sure it will ever get better.”

At the time of publishing, Dan had not addressed his father’s claims.
