Beth Tweddle has announced the birth of her first child with her husband Andy Allen.
The former Olympic gymnast shared the happy news to Instagram on Monday by sharing a black-and-white photo of her daughter’s tiny hand gripping onto her and Andy’s hands.
Beth also included a throwback picture which showed a sign reading her little girl’s due date: “Our greatest gift is due to be unwrapped May 2019.”

She wrote: “Exciting news! Andy and I are delighted to welcome and introduce Freya Allen to the world.
“Born 16th May, both her and I are doing well. What an unbelievable feeling and we’re looking forward to the amazing journey ahead.”
Fans congratulated Beth and Andy on their new arrival.
One person said: “Congratulations to you both on you beautiful new arrival of baby Freya. Wishing you all the happiness in the world.”
Another wrote: “Congratulations to you you all! Can’t wait to see pictures of her.”
A third gushed: “Huge congratulations to you all!”
Beth announced her pregnancy in December last year.
She wrote on Twitter: “Really excited to share the news that Andy and I are expecting our first child in May 2019 (sic).”
Beth also took to her Instagram account to share the picture of the blackboard sign about her baby’s due date.
Alongside the photo, Beth wrote: “Really excited to share the news that Andy and I are expecting our first child in May 2019.”

The couple married in June last year in Cheshire, north west England, and the retired gymnast – who won bronze for Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympic Games on the uneven bars – described her big day as “magical”.
She told Hello! Magazine last year: “The whole thing was just magical, more so than we ever could have imagined.”
