Danniella played Sam Mitchell on the soap on and off between 1996 and 2016.
Her last stint was for Peggy Mitchell’s funeral last year and at the time rumours flew round that she’d arrived late and behaved unprofessionally.
But on today’s show, Danniella revealed that she’d actually suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage while she was there filming.
However, Danniella has made no secret of her love for the show that made her famous, and her desire to go back.
Speaking to the ladies on today’s show, she said: “There’s a lot of chance of me going back to EastEnders at the moment.
“I do love EastEnders, I just really wish we could film it in Marbella!
“I’ll probably be back there end of this year.”
Wherever Sam Mitchell goes, there’s always trouble, so we can expect sensational storylines if she does return.
Last time she was in town she ended up leaving her son, Ricky, with his dad Jack Branning, admitting she wasn’t cut out to be a mum. Will some time away have made her miss her boy? Is she coming back to fight a custody battle with Jack?
A spokesperson for EastEnders has said: “There are no plans for Danniella to return.”
Danniella’s son, Kai joined her in the Loose Women studio today as she revealed she’s bought a bar in Marbella – but she isn’t set to be a real life Peggy Mitchell!

“I’m not going to run it,” she said when the ladies questioned whether a recovering addict should really have a stake in a drinking establishment.
“I’m not going to be Peggy Mitchell. I’m still going to work and act but it’s an investment for me and my son. I’m not there every day.”
Opening up to the panel about how she’s come off her various medications, which were treating her bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder and her paranoid schizophrenia symptoms, and taken a more holistic approach to being well, she said:
“I was sick of being sick and walking around like a medicine bottle, so I’ve come off every bit of medication I was on.
“I’ve been on medication for bipolar since 2001 and I think a lot of it can be done holistically and with therapy.”
