Danniella Westbrook has defended herself after she was hounded about her past drug addiction following her appearance on The Jeremy Vine show.
Danniella went on the show on Wednesday (23 January) to talk about how she hasn’t spoken to her daughter Jody in three years and how she has had panic alarms fitted in her home over fears of a stalker.
The 45-year-old also spoke about overcoming her drug addictions. But after her interview some unkind words understandably irked her.
When one critic tweeted: “I didn’t know cocaine gave you empowerment. Just saying,” Danniella swiftly made a comeback.
She replied to the troll to explain that her addictions left her unemployed and that it wasn’t a laughing matter.
She tweeted: “No it gives you unemployment u 🔔🔚 .”

Danniella also reposted a message of support from a fan who said that all the hateful comments were only making her “stronger” because she is in a “good mind set” these days.
Comments like these are so old and outdated now, and she’s in such a good mindset at the moment that literally all these comments are doing is making her stronger.

Danniella has been open about her past addiction to cocaine. She said of her recovery on the channel 5 show this week: “I went to church and I found that worked for me. Let’s face it, none of us are perfect. But I just try and live the best I can on a daily basis without hurting other people.”
In August last year she admitted she had relapsed after finding out she had womb cancer, tweeting that she has made “mistakes”.
The former EastEnders star also opened up about not seeing her 17-year-old daughter Jody, who now lives with her dad Kevin Jenkins. However, Danniella says she is still close with her elder son, Kai.
She revealed: “Jody is with her dad and that’s just a whole different issue because of different things but the stalker did play a huge part in that for her own safety. I haven’t spoken to Jody for three years. She’s 17, she’s gorgeous.”

She added: “Look, it’s very difficult, especially since I’ve been ill. Jody is doing her life and she’s doing very well, she’s done brilliantly at school and now she’s in college and she’s doing great, and her dad is a great dad and he’s doing what’s best for her, right now.”
