We were so dazzled by his dancing steps and gleaming smile on last year’s Strictly that we never stopped to wonder whether Danny Mac was his real name.
But the twinkle-toed star revealed on today’s This Morning that he was actually born Danny Green!
The actor, 29, was telling Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes about his imminent nuptials to fellow former Hollyoaks star Carley Stenson, 34, when he confessed that Mac is not the name he’ll be signing the wedding register with.
“Mac is actually my middle name,” he told the hosts. “It was an equity thing, but Mac was always my nickname.
“I was always called Mac, Macca… It just stuck.”

Looking dapper in a suit jacket, white T-shirt and no socks, Danny seemed thrilled about his summer wedding to Carley, whom he met in 2011 while they both worked on the Channel 4 soap.
“I get married in August, so we can’t wait for that,” he explained.
“She’s in Les Miserables at the moment, and she’s the happiest I’ve ever seen her.
“But, bless her, we’ve been planning since the beginning of Strictly, and she’s done all the work.”
Danny and his professional partner Oti Mabuse wowed viewers in last year’s series of Strictly, with the Bromley-born heartthrob proving to be a natural on the dancefloor.
The pair were the early favourites among bookies, but were eventually pipped to the title by TV presenter Ore Oduba and his partner Joanne Clifton.

However, Danny did break a few records along the way, becoming the first celebrity ever to score top marks with a samba, and also getting the highest average score for a male celebrity.
With his wedding to Carley, we reckon he’ll break his fair share of hearts, too!
