Football legend David Beckham has paid an emotional tribute to his late nan to celebrate what would have been her birthday today.
David, 41, expressed his love for his Nan who was “so special in so many different ways”.
The throwback snap shows David and Peggy, who passed away aged 83, together when he received his OBE at Buckingham Palace in 2003.

The dad-of-four wrote: “Today would of been my Nan’s birthday someone that was so special in so many different ways to us all.
“Someone that loved her family with a passion and was one of the strongest women that I know… We miss you x ❤️.”
Pals said that David shared an extremely close bond with Peggy and was “devastated” when she passed away.
Fans commented on the precious photo to show their support.
One wrote: “She’s looking at your right now and she’s major proud of you.”
“Losing a Nan is one of the hardest things life can throw at you. Much love to you and your family,” another said.
Last year the Beckham family marked the third anniversary of Peggy’s death and paid heartfelt tributes to her.
David wrote on Instagram: “This day 3 years ago I lost my Grandma someone so strong and so special to us…
“This picture was one of the proudest days of my life for someone that loved the royal family as much as she did I was able to take her and my grandad with me to the palace to receive my OBE…
“We miss her every single day.”
David’s eldest son Brooklyn, 18, also paid tribute. He wrote: “Miss you nan so much. X miss your bacon sandwiches.. can’t believe it’s been 3 years ❤️,” alongside a photo of him as a tot with Peggy.
David, who’s married to fashion designer Victoria Beckham, is also a doting dad to Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and Harper, six.
Last month the former England captain added another tattoo to his ink collection in tribute to his children.
David had the word “Dadda” inked on his neck at a popular tattoo parlour, Shamrock Social Club, in West Hollywood.
Sharing a snap of the new ink on Instagram the star wrote: “A little something new… Dadda.”
How sweet!
But David and Victoria, who recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary, have faced criticism when it comes to how they parent their children.
David was at the centre of controversy after kissing his youngest, Harper, on the lips.
David captioned the sweet photo: “Kiss for Daddy ❤️.”

But it wasn’t long before David was forced to defend himself by saying: “I kiss all my kids on the lips.
“Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn is 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I’m very affectionate with the kids.
“It’s how I was brought up – and Victoria – and it’s how we are with our children.
“We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them and support them.”
