David Beckham sends fans into a frenzy with adorable childhood photo

Look at that hairdo!

These days he’s a household name, a proud dad of four, married to a popstar-turned-fashion designer and head of a brand worth an estimated £500 million.

But David Beckham, 42, threw it back to a time before fame and riches by posting a seriously cute photo to Instagram showing him as a little boy.

Bless him, look how young he is!

And look at that spiky hair!

Becks shared the cute snap to social media in honour of football legend Sir Bobby Charlton’s milestone 80th birthday.

He’s seen looking a tad starstruck and overwhelmed as he shakes hands with the sporting icon while attending Bobby’s soccer school as a boy.

The now-grown up David added the caption: “Happy 80th birthday to not just a national treasure, my dad’s hero and the man that started my Manchester United career but a true gentleman.

“Thank you and have an amazing day Sir Bobby.”

Fans were quick to join David in wishing Sir Bobby a very happy birthday – while also taking cheeky swipes at his rather eye-catching hairdo.

One joked: “Becks, I can see you had crazy hairstyles since childhood!”

Another said: “Naughty barnet. Business at the front party at the back!”

A third added: “Now this is a hairstyle you need to bring back!”

Others said the photo had brought back some nostalgic memories of their own childhoods, with one saying: “The Bobby Charlton School of Sport! Haha that’s going back! I did tennis there! Good times!”

Meanwhile, some other fans admitted to thinking David was actually his son Cruz, twelve, on first glance.

One wrote: “Woah!! I thought it was Cruz lol!!!! Wow Cruz is a carbon copy of David, it’s mindblowing.”

Another agreed: “You totally look like Cruz!”

Becks has often credited Sir Bobby for kick-starting his career.

Speaking in the BBC documentary, Sir Bobby Charlton at 80, he said: “I went to the Bobby Charlton soccer school at 10 years old and went back there the year after and ended up winning the competition.

“That was when Sir Bobby contacted Manchester United and said ‘maybe you should have a look out for this young kid’.

“So I owe everything to Sir Bobby because, if not, maybe I wouldn’t have had the chance of living my dream of playing for the club that I’d supported for so many years and the club my dad supported.”
