Davina McCall undergoes brain surgery
Last month, Davina and her partner, Michael, revealed that she was undergoing brain surgery after doctors found a tumour.
Taking to Instagram, the former Big Brother host posted a video explaining what was going on.
“Hi, so I’m posting this, it will be Friday morning. I’m posting it because a few months ago I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace, but it turned out I had a benign brain tumDavour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare,” she said.
She then admitted she’d put her “head in the sand” about it for a while. However, after getting advice from numerous neurosurgeons, she decided to undergo surgery to get rid of it.
“It’s big for the space – it fills the space. It’s 14mm wide. And it needs to come out because if it grows it would be bad,” she explained.
After surgery, her partner posted an update, saying that she was in ICU after successful, “textbook” surgery.
“She’s currently recovering in ICU as a precaution, as you can imagine, she’s utterly exhausted,” he said.

Davina McCall issues update after brain surgery
Taking to Instagram last night (December 19), Davina issued an update on how she was feeling.
“I really feel a lot more myself now. I feel way better,” she said.
“My sense of gratitude is growing by the day, I’m crying a bit less which is good. I’m really looking forward to Christmas,” she then continued.
I’m crying a bit less which is good. I’m really looking forward to Christmas.
“I want to talk about the place I did my health check. I didn’t sing about it from the rooftops is it costs more than most people could afford. It’s expensive – BUT it did save my life. But it is prohibitively expensive for most. The NHS also offers loads of other checks too. So get them – get the health check. Preventative medicine is better than reactive medicine,” she then went on to say.
“Eat well, do exercise, be less stressed. I just feel so grateful now. I’d like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at the clinics – I’m pretty sure you saved my life.”
“So happy you’re here to tell us about it. Merry Christmas Davina,” one fan commented.
“I didn’t know it was possible to feel more and more proud of you everyday. Simply adore you,” another said.
“What an amazing thing to say and put on instagram. You are so right and it’s great to put all of this out there. So happy you are okay,” a third wrote.
Davina clears up confusion
Earlier this month, a picture of Davina rocking a blonde pixie cut was released to promote the upcoming Christmas special of The Masked Singer.
Taking to Instagram, Davina gave fans an update on her health. She also explained the blonde do.
“I just wanted to also say that the picture of me in the wig was from when we recorded The Masked Singer earlier on this year, before my operation,” she said in a video.
“So I was fit as a fiddle then. I’m still recovering right now and I’m planning on getting back to work in about a month. But I just wanted to let you all know, okay,” she then added.
