She’s in the best shape of her life as she approaches her 50th birthday.
So we don’t blame cheeky Davina McCall for marking the milestone by slipping into a thong bikini for the very first time in her life.
Go Davina!
The former Big Brother host shared a photo to Instagram on Wednesday admitting it was a shameless boast about just how darn good she looked in the two-piece.
Clearly thrilled with her appearance, the star said: “Did a run this am … First foray into thong bikini … at 50.
“This might look like I’m showing off…. I am.
“I’m pretty chuffed, having thought I would be in one pieces after 40 I am so happy!”
She added the hashtags “growing old disgracefully” and “cheeky view”.
One wrote: “50 no way! You look amazing Davina. Body to die for.”
Another said: “Age is just a number, who says you should hide it away? Especially when you look this fab.”
A third added: “If my bum looks like that at 50 I will be more than happy.”
And a fourth remarked: “Who cares about dressing ‘your age’! You look fabulous – dress how you feel”
In an interview with The Mirror, she said: “My one really good bit of my body is my tummy – I’m always taking selfies showing it.
“My knees are really weird and I’ve always had kind of straight legs, not shapely.
“But as you go on through life, you become a lot more accepting of where you’re at. I might not be physically perfect but my forte is my bum and my stomach.
“I’ve come to accept that.”
She said on Twitter she didn’t know where they were going beforehand, but was thrilled when their destination was revealed as the Verdon Gorge, a river canyon in south eastern France.
“My birthday is actually on the 16th of October ! We are starting early.”
And in a nod to Davina going sugar-free two years ago, her best pals even remembered to bring a sugar-free birthday cake on their trek.
She captioned the snap: “Got a sugar-free cake in the middle of nowhere!”
What good friends she has!
While most of us probably couldn’t actually round up 700 friends of friends of friends, Davina has a huge circle of nearest and dearest who will join her in London for the party.
“I’m doing a massive club night on my birthday at the Café de Paris with 700 of my closest friends and we’re all going to go mental!” she said.
“I’ll be on the water of course. I know, it’s so boring, but I haven’t had a drink for years.”
She added: “Life’s too short for regrets. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, but I’ve learned from every one and I’m still here, and I’m in quite a good place. I’m happy. Hopefully when I’m 60 I can say to you I feel better than I do now.”
We have no doubt she will!
