Long Lost Family host Davina McCall previously revealed her children didn’t come to her big 50th birthday bash – but there was a very good reason for that!
The television presenter told The Sun in 2018, she arranged a huge night out for friends in London, to mark reaching the big 5-0 milestone – but it was an adults-only event!
As well as the fact her party was held at a nightclub and her kids are underage, the star wanted to “release the beast.”
Long Lost Family star Davina McCall ‘trying to keep up’ with kids
She said: “I thought I wouldn’t be able to release the beast if my kids were there! Or they would be looking at me going: ‘What are you doing?! [Bleep]-dropping on the stage. Mummy, no!'”
Davina added that her children – Holly, Tilly and Chester – all have thriving social lives of their own. And she struggles to keep up.
“I’ve got a 16-year-old who has got a busier social life than I have, and a 14-year-old who is going that way as well,” she said.
“I’m now trying to stay up late to keep up with them.”
Davina celebrated her 50th birthday with a huge party at the end of January 2017. Celebs like Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Emma Willis and Fearne Cotton all attended.
She previously told The Mirror: “I’m doing a massive club night on my birthday at the Café de Paris with 700 of my closest friends. And we’re all going to go mental!
“I’ll be on the water of course. I know, it’s so boring, but I haven’t had a drink for years.”
Davina McCall and husband’s split
Davina split from husband Matthew Robertson in 2017 after 17 years of marriage.
She previously said she and Matthew will never discuss their separation in public. This is out of respect for each other and their kids.
Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, she explained: “Just for the record, for our kids’ sake, Matthew and I have both decided we are never going to talk about this.
“We have three kids, who are quite grown up. And we just don’t want to talk about it in the public eye. So that’s what we are doing.”
Long Lost Family airs tonight (August 19) at 9:00pm on ITV1.
