Davina McCall has put the trolls that call her ‘too skinny’ in their place after revealing that she is the healthiest she has ever been.
The 51-year-old fitness queen has repeatedly been faced with criticism for her slender figure. She has now admitted that it “bugs” her as she is only worried about how healthy she is, not what she looks like.
The presenter told The Metro: “I want to promote health and fitness and that’s why I get slightly irked with people going, ‘I’m too skinny’ because I am really healthy.”
She added that doctors have also told her what great physical shape she is in.
She continued: “I mean, I go to the doctors once a year for a little MOT and every year they go, ‘Bloody hell, you’re amazing.’
“And, in fact, I’ve probably got healthier. Like my cholesterol is better, my blood pressure’s amazing, my BMI is perfect, I’m within the normal range, I’m not at the bottom of the range for all those naysayers. So that bugs me because I’m a very healthy person.”
Davina also said she is “hoping” the epidemic of body-shaming will die out because it’s getting “boring”.
The star, who has just released her 15th workout DVD, is a keen runner and regularly takes exercise classes, but she insists that she enjoys fitness and doesn’t do it because she feels pressure.
She recently posted about her love of all things health and told the haters to “unfollow” her if they didn’t like it!
Declaring that she is unapologetic about posting bikini selfies, she wrote on Instagram: “Dont care what you think 😂😂👍🏻 I feel good in my skin. And leading a healthy life is a huge part of why I feel body positive. I don’t judge anyone for the life they choose or the shape they are . Life is too frickin short … if you hate all of this stuff then seriously unfollow me.”

The mum-of-three is certainly dedicated. While most of the nation started 2019 by nursing a hangover, or scoffing leftover chocolates, Davina went off for a swim in the freezing North Sea!

The former Big Brother host is also keen to prove that her abs don’t come from only eating salads. She insists it’s all about balance with her diet and she still enjoys treats.
She added in her interview: “So I make healthy choices but I still eat bread, I eat butter, I eat crumpets, I love honey – honey’s a sugar. Like, everyone thinks I’m sugar-free, I’m not.”
