Davina McCall – who is hosting D-Day 80 at the Royal Albert Hall today (Sunday, June 9) – previously opened up about her rather odd behaviour towards the royal family.

Davina McCall on ‘weird’ behaviour towards Royal Family members
During an interview with the Daily Mail in December 2023, Davina spoke about how she’s been writing to the royal family since she was eight. She confessed it is a “little weird”.
“I started off with a letter to the Queen. I got a letter with the wax on the back,” she said.
She then continued, saying: “I then wrote one to Princess Margaret, [and] to Princess Diana after the Panorama interview. I wrote to Prince Charles during his ‘Climategate’ when everyone was ridiculing him.”
She also added that she wrote a letter to Prince William and Kate.
“When I got my MBE, I got a letter from Prince William saying, ‘I just want to say congratulations. We are so pleased for you’. It meant a lot to me,” she then added.
Davina to appear in Celebrity Gladiator?
In other Davina-related news, the 56-year-old is reportedly being eyed up for a role on Celebrity Gladiator.
Davina previously put herself forward to host the show’s reboot. However, Bradley and Barney Walsh got the gig instead.
But – according to The Sun, Davina is one of many stars being considered for a celeb version of the hit show.
“The BBC want big name contestants with the kind of strength and agility needed to compete with the intimidating gang of gladiators,” a source alleged.
“Davina is incredibly fit and already looks keen to be involved. Even if she has only previously talked about lending her presenting skill,” they then continued.

Davina McCall on her ‘drug of choice’
Elsewhere, during an interview with New! magazine earlier this year, Davina revealed that exercise is her “drug of choice”.
Speaking to New! magazine, she said: “Nutrition and exercise are things I do because I want to live as long as possible. It’s not about what people think or how I look.
When asked if she enjoys exercising, she said: “I do. I suppose it’s my drug of choice.
“Exercise is the thing that literally makes me high. I have times when I would rather do anything, but once I finish a workout, I’d happily do it all over again,” she then added.
