Dec Donnelly has confirmed to fans that he is set to become a father, following claims that he and wife Ali are expecting their first child.
The presenter shared his joy on Twitter, admitting the cat was out of the bag sooner than they had hoped.
But he thanked his followers for all the well wishes, writing: “Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages.
“The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child.
“Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it ❤ D x”

The Sun reported yesterday that the 42-year-old TV favourite and his talent manager wife Ali, 40, are “absolutely delighted” to be expecting.
A source said that the couple have “always wanted a family” and it’s “an experience that they see as the best of their lives”.
The insider added: “Dec comes from a big family himself and family has always been very important to him, as it is to Ali.
“They are both beyond excited at the prospect of being parents.”

Dec and Ali married in 2015 at a star-studded ceremony attended by the likes of Dec’s telly partner Ant McPartlin, and fellow presenters Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Paddy McGuinness and Fearne Cotton.
The news comes as Dec prepares to go solo for the first time in his presenting career, hosting Saturday Night Takeaway this coming weekend alone, while pal Ant undergoes treatment in rehab.
