TV host Lorraine Kelly was delighted on Wednesday when she was joined by two of her undoubtedly favourite guests – her mum Anne and her auntie Josephine.
Sharing an Instagram snap of the three of them at her ITV studio (where she has kindly given up the sofas to her surprise guests), Lorraine told her fans, “Mum and aunt Josephine popped into the studio today. #family #happy #mum #aunty.”
Viewers praised the chat show presenter for “keeping her feet on the ground,” and couldn’t help but point out how much she looks like her mum.

“You are very like your mum Lorraine,” commented one follower, while another added, “You look exactly like your mum!”
Lorraine and Anne are very close, and just a few weeks ago, the much-loved star shared a throwback picture of her as a little girl, accompanied by her mum, on a boat.
“Me and my gorgeous mum, rocking a bikini in 1962. Looks like she should be in Cannes. Was actually Seamill on Ayrshire coast. #gorgeous #bikini #beautiful #mum,” she wrote.
Four years ago, Lorraine bravely opened up about how her maternal grandmother had urged her mum to put her up for adoption, as her mother and father were not married at the time.
But, determined to keep her, Anne and Lorraine’s father John, married four months before she arrived and struggled to make ends meet as they lived out of one bedroom with no hot water.
“They were just teenagers, and I can’t imagine how they coped. But dad, a repair man, worked incredibly hard, so we soon upgraded to a tenement flat. Those early years sound Dickensian, but I couldn’t have asked for a better childhood,” she wrote in The Guardian.
Now, Anne is Lorraine’s biggest fan.
“Mum and I are very close and we speak all the time. She watches me on television every day. And if she’d have had more opportunities, she would have made a great journalist, because she asks really good questions!” she wrote.
Lorraine’s daughter Rosie has also been appearing on the show since she was a little girl.
Rosie, Lorraine’s only child with husband Steve, now lives in Singapore, and appeared on the show via video link in March to wish her mum a Happy Birthday.
“Just seeing her wee face, I miss her,” Lorraine said, as she wiped away tears.
Another memorable occasion was when a much younger Rosie had to appear on-screen with boy band Westlife because she refused to let go of singer Brian McFadden.
