Denise Welch has said she’s “very excited” to be fronting a new documentary on later in life lesbians.
The programme will explore the stories of women having same sex relationships having previously been with men.
The idea for the documentary came about after the Loose Women star played such a woman in the drama Different For Girls.

She told The Sun she was overwhelmed with the response to her character finding a second chance of love with a woman, with many coming forward to say they’d had similar experiences.
She said: “Lots of women have been in touch with me and said that it was their story.
“Some of these stories have happy endings with husbands and children accompanying their ex-wives and mums to gay pride marches but others less so, where women are ostracised by their families.
“I can’t wait to share some of these amazing and inspiring stories.”
She added in a tweet that she’s “very excited about this!!” after news on the documentary broke.
Her fans responded to say they can’t wait to see it.
“Love this,” wrote one. “Fab. I’ll be watching you lovely. What great work!” said another.
“Wow! Definitely will watch this,” added a third.
Denise, 61, was recently named one of the “Top Ten Pride Allies” by the Independent.
The mother-of-two is a staunch advocate of gay rights and regularly attends Pride events.

While some of the women she will feature in her documentary have been unlucky in love, the actress is currently loved-up with her third husband Lincoln Townley.
She married the 46-year-old artist in 2013 and posted a gushing tribute to him on Instagram to celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary this month.
“Happy 6th Anniversary @lincolntownley. The 13th may be unlucky for some but not for us. I love this man more every day and am so grateful for everything he does for me and our family,” she wrote.
