DESPERATELY excited about the rumoured return of this US fave…

Cast are dropping major hints that the show is set to return....

Fans of Desperate Housewives rejoice.

It looks like the glossy soapy drama could return to our screens next year!

According to reports from the US last week, ABC, the network that owns the show, is planning on reviving the show in 2018.

As yet the reports are unconfirmed, but just this week, Eva Longoria added fuel to the fire that the show could indeed be on its way back!

Speaking this week she said she would be excited to reprise her role in the show.

When asked by the Sunday Mirror if there was any chance the show would return, she squealed: “Oh, I would LOVE to. I miss being Gabby Solis. It’s still on telly around the world.

“But if the chance happens to do it again, I’d be the first one there.”

She also told ET in the US: “I would jump at the chance to play Gaby again.

“I miss her! I miss her skin and I miss being in her skin.”

These comments are in stark contrast to what she said a couple of years ago when she said the writers had exhausted the storylines.

“Our creators have said that it is never going to happen,” she said, adding: “I couldn’t sleep with one more person. There can’t be one more death or one more hurricane. We did it all.”

It looks like Eva Longoria isn’t the only cast mate itching for a comeback.

So too is Felicity Huffman, who played Lynette Scavo.

This week she tweeted a throwback picture of her and her castmates with the caption: “It’s been 5 years. Love all the #DesperateHousewives fans. What a wonderful 8 years that was. Shall we do a reunion? Desperate Old Dames?

But which other castmates can we expect back? While Eva, Felicity would most likely be joined by Teri Hatcher and Mrcia Cross, it’s unlikely we’ll see Nicolette Sheridan return, as she sued show runner Marc Cherry for alleging slapping her,

Meanwhile, Cody Kasch, who played Zach Young, dismissed the idea of a rumoured Desperate Housewives movie a while back, saying; “I’d rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can’t believe you did that. It was horrible.’”

Co-star Richard Burgi, who played Karl Mayer, also poured scorn on a big screen version. “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good. It was so terrific … If we did a Desperate Housewives movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”

Would they think the same for a TV reunion? We’ll just have to wait and see.
