Stacey Solomon does surprise U-turn by saying she’s in no rush to marry Joe Swash

No need to buy a ring just yet, Joe!

Stacey Solomon has dropped various hints in recent months that she’d quite like boyfriend Joe Swash to propose.

But don’t go buying any boxes of confetti just yet, folks.

On today’s instalment of Loose Women, Stacey seemed to do a complete U-turn, explaining that she’s “not in a hurry” to walk down the aisle with the I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp presenter.

The panel – Stacey, Christine Lampard, Linda Robson and Janet Street-Porter – were discussing new research that suggests men tend to propose marriage earlier than women would like.

According to data compiled by European rail-pass provider My Interrail, the average bloke pops the question after being with his partner for two years and four months.

However, the average woman would prefer to wait until two years and seven months have elapsed.

And Stacey quipped that her time has almost arrived. She told her co-stars: “I think I’m nearly there! We’ve been together two years and two months. I have an alarm – 22 days to go!”

Well, that got us all excited – but then she immediately dashed our hopes of a showbiz wedding.

She admitted: “You know what? I’m actually really content. I do want to have that day and the declaring your love for each other, but I’m not in a hurry to sign a contract. I’m just happy.”

Stacey met Joe while appearing on the 2010 series of I’m A Celebrity – which she won – and the couple started dating in 2015.

Fast-forward to last October, and the former X Factor star hinted that she was ready to tie the knot.

She said on Loose Women: “I think any kind of proposal is great. I’ll take a text. That’s a great idea. All the pressure’s gone, just send a little message.”

Well, take your time, Stacey – there’s no rush.
