It’s what everybody has been waiting for since the series finished in 2015… A movie may be on it’s way!
Downton Abbey is said to be heading to the big screen and there are talks that one of the main characters has already said yes.
According to the MailOnline, actor Michael Fox, who played Andy Parker in the series, told the paper that Dame Maggie Smith will be reprising her role as Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham.
Talking at the BBC America BAFTA Party in West Hollywood, the 27-year-old added: “She elevates it to something else, because she is such a legend and a national treasure.”
The man has a point.

He then said that the 81-year-old actress is at “the pinnacle” of her profession and if she is in the movie, then the film will be of top quality.
“The film without her would still be good with all the other actors, but it puts a stamp of quality with her in it,” he said.
On The Graham Norton Show last year she told the host that she wasn’t too sure how her character could keeping appearing in the show because the Dowager was so old.
“By the time we finished, she must have been about 110. It couldn’t go on and on, it just didn’t make sense,” she said.
After being asked whether she would appear in the movie version she added: “I can’t – what age would she be?”

Surely, the writers could take them back in time?!
Creator of the period drama Julian Fellowes hasn’t hidden the fact that he is very excited about producing a movie and he confirmed that cameras would likely begin rolling in 2017.
“I think it will be fun to get everyone together, and move it to a larger scale because you have got more money to spend.”
Well, we can’t wait!
