Holby City SPOILER: BBC medical drama drops big hints about the death of a main character

Could it be fan favourite Jac Naylor?

| Updated:

Holby City have released their summer trailer – and it includes a few rather large hints about who will be killed off later this year.

Just last week, fan favourite Rosie Marcel revealed that one of the show’s major characters will die.

The actress, who plays Jac Naylor, even admitted it could be her own character who is written out.

And the new sneak peak of upcoming storylines confirmed it could indeed be Jac as she is seen lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by tubes, looking unusually scared for the feisty doctor.

Holby fans already know that Jac will eventually be left wheelchair bound after her recent gunshot wound.

Jac has signed herself up for John Gaskell’s potentially life-saving operation that pioneers stem cell research – convinced that it’s her only chance of making a full recovery.

However, we also see Essie Harrison having a health scare of her own, as she’s pictured with Henrik Hanssen.

The consultant ominously asks her: “Do I have your consent for all eventualities?”

Before we see Essie in hospital robes about to enter a CT scan, she is pictured at home clearly upset by the contents of a letter.

Could the letter be bad news about her health?

Fans watching the trailer, released on Holby City’s official Twitter feed to 47,600 followers, were quick to speculate about who they think will be killed off – with most assuming it’s either Jac or Essie.

Other fans rejoiced to see the return of Bernie and her reunion with Serena, Lofty proposing to Dom and a Casualty crossover when Ethan Hardy makes an appearance.

Too. Much. Excitement.

Another interesting storyline is the appearance on Fletch’s dad, played by Jesse Birdsall – who some of you might remember from naff 90s soap Eldorado.

While Fletch’s kids seem keen to get to know their grandad, Fletch is adamant he stay away.

So why all the animosity?

The drama is set to take place over the coming months on BBC.
