As we know, life in Albert Square is just never easy.

All seemed fine between the pair of old pals to start with as Sharon tried to convince Michelle not to follow her toy boy lover Preston to America.

After that she then persuaded her to give the police a statement about the chip shop car crash that had seen Sylvie lose her life.

But then – surprise surprise – tensions reached boiling point when Michelle overheard Sharon sniping about her and then….. well, a fiery argument ensued.

Overhearing Sharon telling Phil that her she thought her mate had already embarrassed herself enough, Michelle stormed out of the house and headed to the shops to seek solace in booze.

But Sharon wasn’t going to let Michelle get away.

Chasing her into he street she begged Michelle to tell her where she was going, fearful that Michelle had changed her mind and was heading off to see Preston.

She was reassured to hear that Michelle couldn’t head to America even if she had wanted to, as the police had confiscated her passport.

When Sharon said it was probably for the best, Michelle turned on her and told her that she didn’t need to take life advice from a woman who had married an alcoholic who also just happened to be her ex husband’s brother.

“Because you’re such an expert,” she pat at Sharon. “We should all be taking life lessons from you… this is my life, Sharon. Not yours, mine.”

But Sharon put Michelle in her place, hitting back : “Yes, and look what a mess you made of it!”

Elsewhere, Shirley Carter was finding it hard dealing with the death of her mother Sylvie.

Upon hearing the news from Tina, she seemed to shrug off the news and snipped coldly: “She always did like a big exit, didn’t she?

“What kind of life would she have fading away in some home? It’s better for everyone she’s gone.”

But back in her cell, emotions got to Shirley as tears started running down her cheeks.

While her cellmate starting grumbling about mums who aren’t there for their children, Shirley snapped and started laying into her.
