Oh those EastEnders writers are really playing with our minds.
No sooner is Mick Carter back in the square and they have him getting up to all sorts – and viewers aren’t happy.
In last night’s episode, the hunky pub landlord told Whitney that he couldn’t stop thinking about her while he’d been away and then ended up falling into a steamy embrace with her.

It all started innocently enough when Whitney was explaining her feelings to him, admitting, “I don’t know who I am anymore.”
A gruff-voiced Mick replied: “You’re Whitney. Always laughing. You’re a fighter. You’re kind. you’re generous. When I was away I was thinking about ya. I couldn’t get you out of my head. I missed you.”
“I missed you too,” said a smitten Whitney, staring in to Mick’s tantalising eyes.
The next thing we knew, Mick has leaned and is giving Whitney a smacker on the lips that left viewers fizzing on their sofas.
This shock development, of course, was something we were expecting.
Since his return to the Square, the pair were lurking around each other with something clearly hanging in the air between them.
Not only had they experienced an admittedly awkward kiss previously, but in the recent trail that was unveiled a couple of weeks ago, there was a clip that suggested that Mick and Whitney were going to be getting close.
Also, the show’s producer had revealed that over the next few weeks, Mick, Whitney and Linda were to star in a special three-hander episode which would see the three of them going at it hammer and tongs about something or other.
Although the kiss between the pair was a dramatic plot twist, viewers were disappointed that writers had Mick cheating on his dear wife Linda.
“Can’t stand Mick now 😭😭 #EastEnders”, one devatasted fan wrote.
Another posted: “I thought Mick and Linda were suppose to adore each other. Great couple. Leave that alone eh. Better storylines please #eastenders”
A fan called Orla raged: Who thought Mick and Whitney was a good idea? Because it isn’t and never will be?”
Another angry viewer was so angry he attacked the show’s producer: “I can’t defend Mick after that! Sean what have you done? You’ve ruined an amazing relationship that people adored.”
Another, called Lewis, seethed: “Can EastEnders stop trying to make Mick and Whitney happen… It’s really weird.”

Meanwhile it has been reported that Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright aren’t entirely happy with the plot development and are said to be unhappy that writers plan to have Mick cheating on Linda.
“Danny and I would fight for them to stay faithful,” Kellie told the Radio Times. “We’re absolutely adamant that that’s how we want it to be.
“If either Mick or Linda had an affair, it would be a cop-out.”
