We don’t know about you, but we’ve really missed seeing the hunky actor who played Peter Beale in EastEnders.
You remember him. Ben Hardy, the blonde-haired market trader with the body to die for, who quit Albert Square about eighteen months ago.
Well, good news. We are going to get to see a lot more of the fine-looking fella very soon.

But he won’t be returning to the glum streets of Walford.
Instead he will be whipping us into frenzy in a brand new BBC drama, The Woman in White.
He’s playing school teacher Walter Hartright, who encounters what he believes is a female spirit dressed in white.
His obsession with finding out who this mysterious woman is leads him into a world of forbidden romance and insanity.
Sounds just dandy, right?
It looks like Ben is just as excited as we are, gushing in a statement: “I have always admired and been a fan of the BBC’s period dramas.
“I’m so thrilled to be playing the leading role of Walter in this classic story.”
In the lavish drama, Ben will be joined by an impressive supporting cast including Jessica Buckley, Charles Dance, Dougray Scott and Art Malik.

The show’s producer Fiona Seres said: “[This] is a powerful, poignant story and I have absolutely loved adapting this epic for the screen.
“I’m thrilled it’s attracted such an exciting, high-calibre cast who I know will bring it to life in a unique and intimate way.”
Ben played Ian Beale’s son Peter until 2015 before quitting and landing a role in X Men: Apocalypse as the winged mutant Archangel.
Speaking to Attitude magazine at the time he said leaving the soap had been an easy choice.
“My life is crazy, life is good, I’m very fortunate. I knew I didn’t want to stay in EastEnders forever. I enjoyed my time there, but I was very fortunate to get the role in X-Men, which is a dream come true.”
However, he did admit that being an ‘Enders cast mate was very beneficial.
“EastEnders is a great job for an actor. It’s good money and if you want to have a family and settle down with kids and stuff it’s a very good job, which is very rare in this acting industry.”
