EastEnders legend Ross Kemp has spoken out over whether Grant Mitchell will return to the Square.
Documentary maker Ross was at the recent National Television Awards and in a red carpet interview with Metro he revealed the latest on plans for his comeback.
We last saw the Mitchell hardman in Walford when Sharon summoned him home to confront his mum, Peggy, who was dying of cancer.
When Peggy took her own life, Grant blamed Phil and didn’t attend her funeral, only visiting her grave later on to leave a single red rose.

Grant later returned for a week when his daughter Courtney called him to help rescue a kidnapped Ben. He then left to start a new life in Portugal with Courtney.
And since then we haven’t heard much about him, except the odd remark by Phil about the paternity of Michelle Fowler’s son, Mark Jnr.
Both Grant and Mark Jnr discovered they were father and son, but they never had that all-important, and much-longed for by the viewers, confrontation.
With Michelle’s return to the Square on Christmas Eve, surely that’s the biggest hint yet that Grant will comeback for a showdown with her about their son?

In his chat with Metro, Ross revealed:
“I think you always say ‘never say never’ – I went back earlier this year and they say a change is as good as a rest, so it was great to go back.”
Ah, the old ‘never say never’ chestnut! We think that sounds suspiciously like he’s thinking about it.
There’s so many loose ends a Grant return would tie up and so many questions we NEED answers to.
Let’s hope EastEnders persuades him to comeback for that explosive showdown with the mother of his son – and then bring back Mark Jnr so the pair can get to know each other.
