In soap, just because a character dies, it doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of them.
They can either return as a ghost, or miraculously come back from the dead.
While we all remember the shock twists in US soaps such as Dallas and Dynasty, in which a character would make a surprise comeback after being killed off, we can now look forward to seeing a dead person make a shock appearance to EastEnders.

According to reports, there are strong rumours that EastEnders bad boy ‘Nasty’ Nick Cotton could be headed back to Albert Square very soon, despite the fact he died of a heroin overdose back in 2015.

But did we actually see his dead body? Well, no, apparently.
Actor John Altman, who played Nick, says there is a definite possibility that the leather jacket-wearing rascal could be brought back from the dead, just like Dirty Den was in 2003.
When asked about the possibility of a return, he teased: “You never know with soaps, do you?
“I mean they could get the right storyline – no one ever saw his dead body did they?
“We will just leave it at that. There’s always open doors and the writers work their magic.”
Nick was killed off in a live episode aired in February 2015 which marked EastEnders’ 30th anniversary.
Mum Dot, who had been terrorised by her wayward son for many years, refused to call an ambulance when the wicked cad had a reaction to ‘bad’ drugs.
As a result the bible bashing goody goody was sentenced to 14 months in prison for manslaughter but released after four months.
John recently said that he wasn’t surprised that Danny Dyer had been forced to take time out from his hectic EastEnders schedule.
“You’re seen for nearly everyone else’s lines as well as your own, as you’re in the background the whole time.

“He’s got to be there more than anyone else and it must be exhausting.”
He added: “EastEnders is like being on another planet — they’re working so, so hard.
“It’s hard work, like being on a never-ending treadmill.
“I wish Danny all the best with it all.
“I don’t really know the ins and outs but I do know that it can be very stressful with the hours that they put in.”
