The Queen Vic has seen it all over the years – punch-ups, arson, murder… not to mention a fair smattering of bad karaoke.
And Albert Square’s favourite (pretty much only) drinking hole will see yet more drama later this month when Steven Beale springs a huge surprise on Lauren.
Scheming Steven, played by Aaron Sidwell, will shock fellow customers by whipping a little box out of his pocket and asking his girlfriend to marry him.
Don’t start buying wedding gifts just yet, though, as something tells us this might not end well…

Steven has been trying everything in his power to get Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) to stay with him in Walford rather than go back to New Zealand with her son, Louie.
Last week, he approached her with a bleeding head and told her that he was dying of a brain tumour.
The ploy left EastEnders fans shocked, with one tweeting that the storyline was “a bit too close to the mark” and another saying that “they’re taking this story too far now”.
Even though Lauren is standing by her man for now, Steven is paranoid that her loyalty won’t last – hence the shock marriage proposal.
And viewers will be left holding their breath as they wait to see how she’ll react in front of her friends and family.

Even if Lauren does get caught up in the moment and say yes, there’s still no guarantee we’ll see the couple walk down the aisle – as a further twist may be around the corner.
According to reports, Lauren’s dad Max (Jake Wood) will decide to do some digging into Steven’s supposed illness.
The question is, will he be able to uncover the truth before the wedding (assuming Lauren accepts the proposal)?
